As co-director of the Institute for Intelligent Behavior, Dr. Arthur Costa has written numerous publications on supervision, teaching strategies, thinking skills, and assessment.  In this session, Dr. Costa discusses topics such as why we teach for thinking; school conditions for teaching thinking; classroom conditions for teaching thinking; thoughtful lesson design; and mediating the metacognitive.  Participant materials provide concepts which can be used immediately in designing lessons and in teaching.
